Charla Coleman - Founder & Executive Director

I am a Mom of seven adult children and Air Force Veteran who works in full time ministry for a local Christian Radio station.

Although I survived toxic, abusive relationships (as a victim and an offender), I had no idea how the lives of girls and women were being senselessly cut short in epic proportions due to domestic violence until my own 19 year old daughter, Jackie, fell victim to a murder-suicide in Rocky Ford, Colorado. The perpetrator was her 22 year old fiance, who she met in December 2018. Their relationship didn't involve physical abuse; however, she endured verbal, mental,  and emotional abuse through his manipulative control. Many do not recognize this as abuse, but it is.

This realization has shaken me to the core and prompted me to dedicate the rest of my life to help women at risk, regardless of age.

I launched Jackie's W.A.R (Women At Risk) in 2021, in memory of Jackie to help prevent girls/ women from falling into the trap of domestic abuse and toxic relationships as well as to help rescue women in crisis.

Through relationship education that includes situation awareness, we show women how to easily recognize when the behaviors within a partnership are healthy as well as when they become toxic so they can change the volatile trajectory themselves.

For women in crisis, Jackie's W.A.R connects women to viable local resources that can help them regain control of their lives.
